Prayer Ministry

The Spirit Lutheran faith community recognizes the power of prayer and is actively engaged in supporting one another through prayer in numerous ways:

  • Prayer Groups
    • E-mail Prayer Group – In this age of technology, requests are communicated via e-mail to members of this Prayer Group who intentionally pray for those in need of prayer. Please submit your requests through our website. If you are interested in becoming part of this Prayer Group and would like to receive prayer requests, contact us.
    • Phone Prayer Group - requests are communicated via phone to members of this Prayer Group who intentionally pray for those in need of prayer. Please call the Spirit Lutheran office (715-832-2421) with your prayer request or if you are interested in becoming part of this Prayer Group and would like to receive prayer requests by phone.
    • Prayer Requests can be submitted to any prayer groups by writing a request on the back of the communion cards (cards are in the church pews).  You may place these cards in the offering plate OR drop them into our black prayer box located in the office hallway. • Prayer Shawl Ministry
The mission of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Spirit Lutheran is to wrap those in need of God’s love in the warm embrace of a shawl created with prayers for rest, renewal, recovery and happiness. Our Prayer Shawl Ministry needs the help of all who knit, crochet or wish to learn these crafts.
A group of faithful knitters and crocheters meet monthly during the winter to knit and crochet prayer shawls and to share ideas and patterns. You are invited to join the fellowship or knit/crochet on your own. Yarn and instructions are available.
Please bring completed shawls to the Spirit Lutheran office for display on the Prayer Shawl rack located on the west end of “The Link” at Spirit Lutheran (near the elevator). If you know someone who is in need of a prayer shawl, please select a shawl from the rack and complete a request form found on the rack. For more information or to get involved in our Prayer Shawl Ministry, please contact the Spirit Lutheran office.
