The Beacon House has changed their name! Posted on by Family Promise - Bambi Guelzow

Our organization has always been an affiliate of the national Interfaith Hospitality Network which changed its name to Family Promise in 2003. The name was changed to reflect the larger scope of what the organization had become; it was not limited to just one program.

With tremendous transition and program expansion over the past several years, the time was right for us to embrace the more recognizable Family Promise name. Family Promise evokes both the sense of a promise our congregations and communities make to families, but just as much the promise contained within those families themselves, their ability to regain the sustainable independence and realize their potential.

We remain committed to our interfaith alliances and practice of hospitality—the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN), our original program uniting diverse faith organizations, volunteers and social services to provide shelter and food will remain Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley’s core program.

Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley’s programs will not change. We will continue to provide help for homeless families to achieve their goal of sustainable independence. These programs include sheltering at the Beacon House, case management, rental, employment, budgeting assistance, and transitional housing.

Thank you to those who have signed up to help out at Family Promise (former Beacon House). We still have some areas that need a volunteer or two so please take a look at the sheets out in the narthex and sign up to help. If you have any questions please call Bambi Guelzow at 715-559-2620.
